Henry and Alice, trapped husband and oppressed wife, lead lives of
quiet desperation.
Henry goes out to work. Alice keeps the house. She spends more hours each year wiping down surfaces than they spend on holiday.
She irons the duster and dusts the iron. From his armchair Henry snipes
at her with an armoury of sarcasm. It is not a pretty picture of the married state.
In this sterile union they each seek relief in fantasy. An adventure of the flesh or mind would improve their health and well-being.
Orca the goldfish can only watch as fantasy blurs into reality and secret passions
explode as both worlds, which seemed a million miles apart, are suddenly on a collision course.
It could only happen to Henry and Alice.
David Tristram’s hilarious comedy ‘The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice’ is the debut performance of TNT Theatre Productions, and stars Alan Montanaro and Denise Mulholland in the title roles. The play is directed by renowned UK director Polly March.
The Secret Lives of Henry and Alice will be performed at St James Cavalier, Valletta on the 22-23-24 and 29-30-31 May 2009.
